I may buy a bicycle this year.
I bought a bike with fat tires in 1997. I only road the ‘mountain bike’ once in ‘the mountains’. Actually, it was on a trail in Brown County State Park, of which signs were posted to ‘not’ ride bikes on the trail. Now, Brown County State Park has a set of mountain bike trails. Fort Harrison State Park also has mountain bike trails, some legal and some not-so-legal. Other than the few miles on that trail in Brown County, the miles on that bike were road miles. I subscribed to a cycling magazine at that time.
I bought a bike for Nikki when she came into my life. It was called a “hybrid’, a cross between a road and a mountain bike. Later, we bought a tandem bike. We were active in CIBA for a few years.
Eventually, the tandem bike was parked. Nikki took her bike when she left. I gave the mountain bike away.
The years when I was a ‘cyclist’ were good. Maybe I will try to recover some of that when (if) I buy a new bike this year. Probably a hybrid. Maybe chase the depression away.
