Fountain Square Murals

I’ve wrote of Fountain Square in prior blogs. I wrote that Fountain Square was a shit hole in the days I grew up. Now, it is a coveted place of the Indianapolis art scene. Every year an Art Squared street festival is held on the streets of Fountain Square.

I try to make the Festival and walked among the people creating their art to enter in the competition, walk through the vendor tents where people sell their art, eat Fountain Square food and drink Fountain Square beer.

While there is much great art to buy on this day, I found some art in the back alleys of this small Indianapolis neighborhood. This fresh mural of a girl flying into the heavens is contrasted by the older and faded (gang related ?) murals and the dumpster with the (gang related ?) markings.
