Ugh!

I was disappointed in myself on Friday (2/5/2021) and Saturday (2/6/2021) evenings. After work on Friday, I laid in bed the entire evening only getting up to bring something back to bed to ear and to pee in the toilet. On Saturday, I ran some errands, paid some bills and purchased supplies for the basement drywall project, but once the evening came the day was over. For both nights I walked through the You Tube wasteland gaining nothing nor progressing on anything to better myself or society at large.

I hate doing that. Wasting time. Not being productive. I could have read a novel, or the Bible or slept. Instead, I walked through the You Tube wasteland watching Tosh and Fail Army and similar channels. If I watched some kind of instructional video on painting or javascript then maybe I would have felt better about laying in bed all those hours.

Better yet, instead of laying in bed I could have worked on the many DIY projects I’ve left unfinished over the past six years. Or, I could have studied the Javascript programing language, worked on the short story I started months ago or screwed in the corner bead on the basement drywall project.

At least on Sunday, (02/07/2021) I exercised my Newfields membership and walked the galleries. At least I made that small effort. Yet, once the evening came, I was back in bed watching Tosh and Fail Army.

Ugh.

Below is one of my favorite sculptures at Newsfields (formerly known as the Indianapolis Museum of Art). This is Randolph Rodgers‘ 1860 sculpture titled “Ruth Gleaning” (as in the Bible story of Ruth).
